A New Pattern

An abandoned city with plant veins all over the buildings.

All the top buildings are filled with honey bee nests.

There are many ant hills all over the roads. Through the cracked roads the ants travel with food, the remains of a human child.

Plants were grown all over cars. Butterflies, moths fill the area.

Through the cracks, the water comes out forming a lake in the street.

A wrangler rash through the street at full speed.

Deepak(a man in his early 30s with a fit body and short hair)accelerates more looking at the rear mirror.

He could see a group of tigers chasing down his car. Maya(a woman in her late 20's, yellow hair, shirt haircut with sleeves)loads the gun and shoots at them.

She looks up seeing the groups of chimpanzees are after them.

Maya hands over a gun to Ashok(a teen his 18, long hair, blue eyes, slim)

Maya, "take care of the monkeys".

Ashok," what? I dont know to shoot".

Maya, "just aim and press".

Ashok shoots randomly.

Deepak could see the bullet shells falling on him.

He looks at his watch.it shows 30 minutes.

He drives fast, birds from the sky poops all over the sky stopping his vision.

Wiper gives his vision back.

Ashok, "can we just slow down.. I feel like vomiting".

From nowhere an elephant rolls the jeep down.

The jeep rolls down and falls on the river.

The jeep starts to sink in. Maya, Deepak and Ashok jump out and swims towards the shore.

Something caught Deepak's leg.it rolls him tight and pulls him in.

Deepak, "something....caught..me...you guys.."

Deepak sinks in.

Maya takes a deep breath and sinks it.

Ashok, "shit..shit...shit.."

Ashok swims fast towards the shore looking back. He sees Deepak struggling back to the shore.

Ashok, "Hey man you alright? You are bleeding."

There was a silence in the lake. Deepak ties his wound with a cloth.

Ashok," where the hell is she?"

Maya came out with a snakehead in one hand and a knife in another.

She threw the snakehead at their feet and keeps the knife back in her pant.

Ashok, "oho..no..."

Ashok jumps in fear.

Deepak looks at the watch, it shows 20 minutes.

Deepak, "we dont have much time.."

Maya opens a map. There is a location marked in red.

Maya, "we cant travel on the road, we will be too visible and will be taken down easily."

Ashok, "we can travel through the sewage. That is how survived"

All the three enters into sewage with applying a liquid all over them with night vision glasses on.

Ashok, "what are these?"

Maya, "it will kill all the insects so that they dont know where we are."

As they walk,

Ashok, "how did all this happen?"

Maya was silent.

Deepak, "when earth fully became conscious it starts to take over."

Ashok laughs, "how can earth become conscious?"

Deepak, "fossils are failures but they are the secret to survival. That is we humans evolved. Also, weather controls our moods, in the summertime, we look happier, in winter sad. Nature plays an important role in how we react to situations and make decisions."

Ashok, "do you mean they control all our actions like god?"

Deepak, "yes but not exactly..not a supernatural way but science way"

Maya, "if we look at plants. They literally share information through underground fungi networks. Animals, plants, and even fungi are more aware than people previously thought"

"while plants may not be able to think as humans do, they exhibit many elements of consciousness: they can see, smell, feel, mount a defence, warn their neighbours of danger, and even remember"

"the whole earth is interconnected., this interconnection made it conscious to be alive".

Ashok, "but why now?"

Maya, "nature has two weapons evolution and extinction. They have a control over it. They can make a species evolve more. But if that species tries to be dominant over others or nature itself. Nature has another weapon extinction."

"This is what is happening now. A cycle of evolution and extinction".

Deepak, "we take a few anecdotes and make incorrect generalizations, we misinterpret information to support our preconceptions"

Ashok looks in awe, "how do you know all this? Who are you, people?"

Deepak, "I am a mathematician"

Maya, "biologist"

Ashok introduces himself.

Ashok, "why did you save me from those weird people?"

Maya looks at the cross-section and takes a left.

Deepak, "same as them, we want something from you"

Ashok, "do you want to murder me?"

Maya, "we used biomimicry as an advancement for human species but now we have to make it as a weapon"

Ashok, "what?"

Deepak, "we need you for a good purpose"

Ashok, "the same thing like nature ha..you guys use for evolution and they use for extinction"

Deepak, "exactly"

Ashok looks confused." but how?"

Maya, "Nature is messy, craggy, chaotic. Irregular shapes found in nature can be used as a solution?"

Deepak, "we mathematician found a specific shape in all living things. That can take any shapes which make a thing stronger when remodified."

Ashok scratches his head." so how do you plan to stop them?"

Deepak, "we now have to change its basic code and restructure it and create a bomb"

Maya, "what..you gonna bomb the city?"

Deepak looks at his watch..10 minutes.

Ashok, "no way..but...why me?"

Deepak, "you are the one who can reconstruct these codes"

Deepak hands a pendrive to him.

Deepak," the structures are modified to codes. You just have to restructure and modify them and upload them in the bomb. The bomb will create a weapon biologically. When blasted will modify all the organism to its normal state".

Ashok," with a bomb, but how can you stop nature from being conscious"

Deepak, "good question?"

Deepak," it's like dismantling things. Once you start to separate each part, here it is a city, take away from its control, then nature will slowly stop its evolving consciousness. This is just the beginning"

Ashok"how you guys met actually"

Maya"we started it. Now we have to end it"

Ashok"oh...so now I am cleaning up. Your mess"

Maya, "we have reached the place?"

Ashok, "what place?"
