A Mat

A mat is s thing that we used to clean our feet, whether it's dirty or wet. One day Mummy told to John to clean the dirty mat of his bed room. John told,"Awwww.....That dirty mat"!!!! I am not going to clean that. Again with Mumny's strict order, somehow Jhon carried that mat with a stick to the washing area. With an ugly face, he poured water, detergent in a bucket and somehow put that mat also.

His Mummy was observing everything and said, "John, do it with love and care". It is something that keeps your feet clean. It is something that plays a great role in keeping the floor of your room clean. When you come back from cricket with your dirty sweaty feet, this the thing that wipes it and then again wipes it your wet feet when you wash with water. Today, it is dirty and it needs your help. It cannot get clean by itself, right! That's why it is completely dependent upon you. Now it's your turn to repay it. Do the work with the utmost love and care.

After listening to Mummy's lines, John was shocked and realized that whatever she told was absolutely correct. The mat cannot speak but that does not mean it dies not need love, care, affection and attention. "Without saying anything, it takes care of me and now when I have to do so, I am becoming selfish. No, I will take it as an opportunity to clean my mat with all the love and care that it has given me always.

Then John started cleaning the mat with full attention and consciousness. After got clean, the mat was really shining as if saying "Thank you" to John. John became very happy and he started cleaning the mat at regular intervals even before Mummy's order.

MORAL OF THE STORY- Don't be casual for the things that love us without any reason.
