A Brief History Of A Nation
A Brief History Of A Nation
Once there was plenty of grass.
Then came the invaders,
Who ate up a lot of grass.
Then a fence was erected.
Then the fence started eating the grass.
The grass protested;
“You are here to protect us.”
“Indeed, from the invaders
But from us there is no protection”
Said the fence.
Once a man wanted to have his own house
He went for a loan. He got it easily.
He made a sale deed with the builder.
Then they went for registration.
“My fee” said the officer,
I too need a house.
The house got robbed.
How much worth?
Rs 2 lakhs said the man.
My cut, say 10% said the policeman.
Agreed, said the man.
The thief was caught.
Police and the thief shared the spoils.
“Ticket please” said the passenger
“Rs 20 please” said the conductor.
Ticket was for Rs 19.00.
“Change please,” said the passenger,
“Rs 1 is for my controller” said the conductor.
The man went to the RTO
I need a license, said he.
Agent, said as you please
My fee with commission
Rs 500, while the actual cost is Rs 200.00
Everybody needs to survive, said he.
The history repeated
For certificates and licenses
For admissions and assurances
Thus, the fence lived off the
Grass ever after.
