Why Me?
Why Me?
I looked in bewilderment at the doctor who was
looking at the report and exclaimed.. again?
He looked at my fearful face and said, in a matter of fact tone
Yes, you need to under go your third operation to set things right
I came out, looked at the heaven and screamed Why me?
Then I heard it, some one shouting back at me
Oh? Is it you asking this question?
Remember? Years ago when you landed in that cushy job
Offering money you never dreamt of?
Did you lift up your head and ask, Why me?
And what about that luxury car that you thought
You bought, in essence, it was my gift to you?
Speeding on the highway and looking at others
With a grump satisfaction on your face,
By any chance, did you lift up you head and ask, Why me?
You built a palatial house, reared your children, educated them
And oh, I forgot, got them married lavishly
And, by any chance, did you even once, lift up your head ask, Why me?
What is not there with you today?
There are thousands without home, food, education
And no dear or near ones to take care and you?
With all the things fed on the silver spoon
Still has the audacity to ask, Why me?
Just because you have a minor ailment brought all by yourself?
Remember What I have said.
Treating alike happiness and distress
Loss and Gain, victory and defeat
And thanking the almighty every now and then
No matter what you get
Will make the purpose of your being, right
