What I Never Told My Friend

What I Never Told My Friend

 You aren't bright as stars,

The moon, or even fireflies

To lend me light when

I'm so dark as the night.

But you are that warm couch

For me to take a restful nap

To regain the light I lost

In the pretentious sunrises

I frequently faked to survive.
