Went Away And Came Back

Flooding eyes and Heavy hearts

People were crying cuz I went apart

Smiles and giggles sank in white

Screeches & pains rose above a height

Flowers were ordered to adorn me with

Cotton in nostrils made it stiff

People Came up to meet me

in white traditionals or white tee

Incensed memories spread across the room

About the the time I learnt to walk & groom

About the time I wrote a book

About the time I carried a formal look

About the time I got a paycheque

About the time I dealt with a meck

And when I married and reared a child

I wanna rise up & end the pains

To shed the tears away in rains

Pallbearers came in & lifted me up
