WAVES
WAVES
For ages, she sat there on the seashore
Watching the waves rise and fall ceaselessly
She was not the one who belonged to the crowd
To reach the shore to get themselves drenched
She belonged to a different clan in this world
Who never was tempted to the worldly plays
Silently she spent time in her world of imagination
Least bothered about the mad crowd and waves
One day, her vision fell on a wave rising too far away
It caught her attention, for reasons strange, unknown
It formed a rainbow with the foaming water, mesmerizing
Her solitude broken, she wanted to wade into this wave now
Wave reaching her charmingly, drenching her head to toe, she felt
A heavenly bliss, ecstasy she had never, felt in her life so long
As she stood blindly, engrossed in this splashing encircling wave
The withdrawing waves; pulled the sand under her feet, and she collapsed
Drawn mercilessly to the bottomless chasm of the deep ocean
Her breath choked her, rocks rolling hit her mercilessly all around
As she nearly saw the dark death, the end of her life near her
Using all the power of her mind and will, struggling she pulled herself out
She now sits once again, but calmly, looking at the strange waves,
She knew that the waves can’t be blamed, for her folly her stupidity
She never learned to swim, lived in solitude, years beyond this world
To venture into unknown deep water suddenly, was not a smart move
