Two Minutes More
Two Minutes More
Throughout the session
he did not take rest.
Three hours of test
and he had to do the best.
He had to meet the expectations
of his parents and even their guests.
He had to prove anyhow
that he was better than the rest.
He went on reading the questions
and did have no complaint.
He had to write all the answers
and to forget the finger's pain.
Two and half hours over
and he asked for some more papers
for he had to find himself
among some other toppers.
Under such a high pressure
he went on drawing and explaining
the electromagnetic waves,
the dispersion of light, the spectrum,
and the DC generator,
ignoring his thirst and hunger.
The three hours got over
and he still was not tired.
As I approached him
With helpless eyes, he gave me a glance
and slowly uttered,
"please, two minutes more".
But I too was helpless,
being duty bound
I could not show mercy
nor could take a round
but could feel his pressure
and hear his helpless roar
as he handed me over
his world of expectations,
the proof of his hard work - his paper.
