The World I Know

I was a tree, shaped as a pod,

Sent as a gift to the Earth from God.

But into a very curious man I had to grow,

To step outside, in the world I know.

Oh! Was I wrong about the place I saw?

Did people change? Or was it the rules and the law?

Hurting each other was no longer a crime,

As long as it's not physical, it's just fine.

People have freedom, people have choice,

But no one can hear a person's voice.

The views are suppressed, all thoughts caught,

It is the privilege for what everybody fought?

People are discriminated by castes and creeds,

Neither by their lust, nor by their greed.

They follow religion with a fear and a dread,

Never understanding that religion is not something to be afraid.

God made the world to live, to love,

Inhabited by animals, from Tigers to Doves.

When he made the man along with his crew,

They slipped away from his hands, bidding adieu.

Man designed the world as of theirs,

Even if others suffer, nobody cares.

I stepped outside, to go with the flow,

In the universe, into the world I know.
