The Wisdom of the Tortoise
The Wisdom of the Tortoise
A tortoise is a creature slow,
With shell and legs that help him go.
He carries his home on his back,
And moves along a winding track.
His shell is tough, a sturdy shield,
That keeps him safe in every field.
He tucks himself in when in fright,
And waits until the danger's out of sight.
He munches on leaves and other greens,
And basks in the sun, a peaceful scene.
He takes his time, with pace so calm,
And rarely ever comes to harm.
He carries with him wisdom old,
And stories that have never been told.
For he has seen the world for years,
And survived through all, without any fears.
So let us learn from the tortoise slow,
And take life at our own tempo.
For haste may lead to mistakes galore,
While patience brings success for sure.
