The Wall of Memories
The Wall of Memories
She stares at the lone standing wall across the street,
Her eyes hunting for a clue that would confirm it used to be her retreat.
With every step taken towards the wall, her memories came flooding back in,
Seeing the remains of her once beautiful abode broke her from within.
She touched the holes in the walls as she relived the unfateful day,
Cries and sickening sounds of artillery echoed in her mind cutting her off from the present in every possible way.
She knelt on the ground, her fingers digging into the cold hard mud,
As she sat there reminiscing the time when the ground was hued by the warm mentality blood.
Vivid images of her family crouching in one end of the house and her in another flashes before her rhuemy eyes,
The assailants barged in before emptying their magazines and silencing the frightening but once human cries.
She sat there trembling as the drama unfolded in front of her,
As the scene gets etched in he mind, panic making her vision blur.
She clambers to her feet and retraced her steps having left the wall behind,
Thanking her stars for helping her escape, not looking back at the structure even once for a nightmare would it remind.
