The Town's Bell

The Town's Bell

1 min

I had hopes of reaching the town with a bell before the night,

So at dusk I set off with my horse, for the long ride,

I continued my journey on the routes,

Which , everyone would abide.

Until I came across the woods, Where I took a road less travelled by.

I kept going deeper and deeper into the woods

Without shifting an inch away from my path,

The hooves and the footprints behind me were fading away,

And the very few in front of me, were

Miles ahead of my grasp.

I still kept going on, without any bother

Knowing that I had to reach the town before

The time of supper,

But my horse's hooves froze as I stood, startled on the ground, staring at huge trees blocking the road, with eyes filled with fear..

I keep trying to find ways to go on my path

And the horse tries to help me too,

Our pulls and pushes, our nudges, and hits, nothing could help us get through.

After our "worthless" Series of trials,

We decide head back soon,

We hang our heads low and trace back our hooves and footsteps, back on the path, which the others took.

None of us looked back, we gave up

The hopes of achieving anything well,

Both my horse and I missed to check

A narrow allleyway beside those trees,

Which showed the town's bell.
