The Sky And Me ~Tanu
The Sky And Me ~Tanu
I reached out and grabbed the cloud
And pulled the sky to me.
And since then every thunder has seemed loud
But no rain can reach the sea.
The bird nested in the tree, and her wings did wither
And no one ever heard of her again
The snake ate her eggs and returned in a slither
You see—he didn't want anyone to take his name.
I pulled out the stars and gazed into the socket.
I guess no murderer had ever been so brief.
Then I took down the sky and kept it in my pocket
And waited for someone to call me a thief.
