The Silent Cries
The Silent Cries
Is it my fault that that happened?
Some say no but some say yes
Who should I believe then?
Is walking in the street at night a crime?
Then why does no one say the same to boys?
I’m so confused
And unsure of what to do.
The perpetrator says that he couldn’t control it
And the jury gave him a sense of empathy
But what does that have to do with me
When my life is in ruins already?
I’m a young girl,
But so what?
No one has the right to touch my body
Even if I’m alone and dressed pretty.
This world turns a blind eye to my pain,
Some people seem to accuse me of disgrace
But what could I even do
When all I could see was the darkness which I can now never undo.
