The Rich & The Poor

The bank balance never hurt me,

The swag of luxury cars never attracted me,

The world is not like us,

We have never seen money as the cool stuff,

We went to movies, places and countries,

Nothing disturbed us,

But,

When your thoughts shifted,

Your values depended on the market rate,

You became a commodity,

And sold our friendship for some good price,

The world is not like me,

It sells emotional stuff,

Money cannot be blamed,

Because it never asked us to be friends in the first place.
