The Prophecy

The Prophecy

I am nature, the giver of life,

My warning to humans is rife.

Beware the politicians' schemes and plans,

Their statues are laid at the cost of my lands.

I am your god, your source of being,

They see me as a commodity, for their seeing.

They cut my forests, pollute my skies, and

Destroy my beauty, for their lies.

They forget I'm the foundation of all,

The source of food, water, and soil,

in thrall. Without me, your statues are but empty shells

And progress is but a story that no one tells.

Listen to my warning, humans of earth,

Your actions determine your worth.

Save me from the few's insatiable greeds,

And I'll reward you with a world, indeed.

Protect my forests, rivers, seas, and lands,

Respect my creatures, big and small,

with hands. I am nature, the god you should embrace,

Not a mere statue, you replace.
