The Moon That Departed...

The Moon That Departed...

I opened the curtain of my window.

It was Moon: trying to peep inside my room

As if it wanted some time from me. I looked at him.

I don't know what was so special that night

That it forced me to pause for a while.

The quality time that we used to spend together, at once, started flashing in my mind.

I closed my eyes for a second and then started gazing at him again.

My eyes drowned into the dancing reminiscences of my childhood.

Many times, I used to spend some moments on my terrace with the moon.

Various dreams and thoughts of childhood were knitted in the moonlight.

The moon always remained calm

And gave me its coolest company until the very last moment.

Sleeping in the moonlight was also an immense pleasure during summers.

The nights were adorned by cool and steady winds.

Alas! Where am I nowadays?

I have no idea how and when exactly those soothing nights departed from my life.

The invisible wave of time, taciturnly, swept those moments away.

I have lost the way that leads to the terrace. It has vanished.

The disparity between the two solitudes of life can easily be felt.

My moon has been drape by the evil clouds.

Now there's only ME- entrapped in this room

That bears a never-ending silence.

The silence that keeps urging for

The moon, that departed, to come back in my life along with my childhood.
