Lion is at the field; the clouds clear up

Sun is at the centre; the shadows cheer up

He is a scene of sensation; the lenses line up

Players in the pavilion need not pad up

Lion is at the field; the outfit he wore

Test or T20, the aim is to score

Balls are marching; several he tore

No job for the fielders; only six and four

Lion is at the field; the audience rumble

Failure follows firmly; the opponents grumble

Deliveries are dispatched; the bowlers tremble

Strokes are like lightning; the fielders fumble

Between the 22 yards, he found his passion

Behind the shoulders, he carried our nation
