The leaf and the tree
The leaf and the tree
Rustling through a banyan tree,
A brisk plucked out a leaf
Holding onto the breeze
The leaf tried to fly high in the sky.
Looking at this the tree became angry.
The helpless leaf and the infuriated tree
All of a sudden, started a squabble,
In a few seconds that led to a quarrel,
And I was there to witness their battle.
“Abandoning me you tried to fly away
Making new friends you sailed through the wind
Destiny is unknown and you missed the direction
Although I was there couldn’t read your mind
But was quite aware that you would be buried.”
Said the tree...
Never had the leaf expected
Such a flippant remark
That made it disheartened
As if it was moving through a ghostly park.
The old and dry leaf with a heavy heart
Asked the tree to have some respect
While making such a blatant statement.
“I have served whole my life
Cooking for you day and night.
How can you forget to feed yourself,f my dear,
I have been burnt to satiate your hunger.
From birth till today I breathed
For you, still, it’s not me who abandoned
You, rather it's you who deserted me.”
The leaf told, smirking at the tree.
By this time the moon had come.
With the darkness, the leaf was gone.
Away from the sight of the tree
After a long time, feeling free.
