The Forgotten Movement of the Year

The Forgotten Movement of the Year

Beneath the gilded glow of time,

Amid the chime of year's last rhyme,

A movement stirred, both swift and shy,

A fleeting star in a cloudy sky.

Not crowned in glory, nor sung in tune,

Its moment passed like a phase of the moon.

No banners waved, no voices cheered,

Yet its essence lingered, soft but clear.

A hand extended, though no one saw,

A kindness rendered, without applause.

A breath of courage in silence held,

A heart’s small battle where shadows dwelled.<

The world, it spun, in loud parade,

While subtle change in quiet was made.

A whispered vow, a healing tear,

The forgotten movement of the year.

Oh, not in grandeur do seeds take root,

But in the stillness, life bears fruit.

What’s lost to noise is seldom gone,

It weaves the fabric we tread upon.

So raise a glass to the unseen grace,

The silent strides, the tender pace.

For in each forgotten move, we find,

The pulse of life, both true and kind.
