The Festival of Light- DIWALI

The Festival of Light- DIWALI

Diwali the festival of light,

Why light?

To wade away the darkness,

From where?

Darkness in our surroundings,

Darkness within.

Diwali is celebrated during "Amavashya'', The no moon day.

The darkest night is lite with, earthen lamps- the Diyas, fire crackers and colorful lights all around.

The sights are amazing.

This is the night when the Bengali people celebrate the "KALI Puja ".

The Goddess Kali is worshipped in temples and around the localities in Assam and West Bengal.

In Northern and Western India people worship Maa Lakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth.

So, Diwali is a celebration for each and every Indians.

The rituals performed help one to know the essence of life.

And living life with dignity.

Darkness is everywhere,

But a small earthen lamp when lite, can brighten the whole area,

Where only truth prevails,

Things are clear .

With lightning of diyas and bursting of crackers the children and adults face are also brightened with happiness and joy.

The joy to see the sky lightened up with fire crackers is so awesome ,

one can sit the whole night in their terrace and observe them,

The stars are your only companion.

The cool breeze blowing during this month gives a calmness to your heart.

You feel the beauty of nature as we see autumn is at our doorstep.

How amazing is the world around.

Though dark at night,

But the stars give us the hope to do better things as time flies by,

Amazing ,Amazing is God's creation and HIS actions.

We are enchanted who created this celebrations and rituals and how they became a part of our life.

As a child we observed it and enjoyed every moment,

Now our children are enjoying and equally happy to see the homes, markets ,temples all decorated with lights.

Whatever and wherever the darkness prevails,

there is always a ray of light showing the path to move forward in life,

Diwali teaches us, we are happy holding each others hand and sharing our feelings ; Exchanging our thoughts with the people we love ,

Caring for the people in our surroundings.

Diwali is a festival of light no doubt,

But it's a festival of love and hope,

Hope of a new beginning,

Hope of a beautiful future,

Hope of a blessed life ahead with happiness, luck and abundance.
