Books Are My Friends

Books are my friends, 

They give me happiness and cheer.

Whenever I am sad, they come near.

I am so engrossed in these books,

That I forget to go to school. 

I read the whole night and sleep during the morning, 

So usually I wake up late, every morning. 

My mother is scolding me, 

My father is scolding me,

But I can't help to stay away from them.

I feel their presence every time,

I think they know me more than anyone. them, 

I love them and hug them for they are my friends. 

They share their knowledge and I absorb them,

I love them, praise them and hold them tight,

No one can separate me from them, how much they fight.

I am alone, 

I cry alone,

They only support me and wipe away my tears.

Books are my only friends. 

From Gita to Bible, from fairy tales to adventure, I read them all,

They give me satisfaction, 

They enhance my wisdom. 

I just cherish them all.
