THE DARK TRAIL

THE DARK TRAIL

She hears them say,

Light is present at the end of the tunnel

But the tunnel does not seem to end

Walking so long on the sombre path

She could recite every curve every bend

The demons on the path consumed by agony

Their voices have lost hope to see light

Existing in the shadows, accepting their fate

Where time had stopped with nothing in sight

An invisible blanket of melancholy surrounds her

She has befriended the demons as her own

Shared their sorrows, empathized with their pain

Any glint of hope has now turned into a stone

Struggling to find the will to carry on

She wonders what it might look like on the other side

The blinding bright light shining upon her

Her soul unburdened and free from the chains tied

She hears them say,

Where there is a will, there is a way.
