The Clock Ticker
The Clock Ticker
Her eyelids flickered,
And she shivered
Everything was a blur,
Her ears were ringing a bit,
Her forehead sweating
Her alluring hair spread on the pillow
Her body shaking with range
But what she heard was,
Only and Only, The clock ticker............
Her pulse quickened,
The lights dimmed
Maybe someone, Working on her wounds
Made some sounds,
Yet, what she heard clearly was,
Only and Only, The clock ticker.............
Her eyes brimmed with tears as,
Pain shot up her body
Her tears fighting for their freedom
But something told her to hold them back...
She was gasping as if she has run hundreds of miles
But what she could concentrate was,
Only and Only, The clock ticker........
Her hands tightened around the bed handle
Her chest heaved up, her breath slowed,
The monitor beeped, doctors rushed,
Her tears still fighting for freedom
At last her body went still ......
Her eyelids covered her hazel eyes,
Her hand loosened from the grip
Her breath normalized, The doctors give a sigh of relief
She let the tears kiss her cheek
Maybe because she was happy to be alive,
But still, now she could hear or her soul wanted her to hear,
Only and Only The clock ticker.
