That One Secret
That One Secret
Prompt theme: Repercussion of restless mind.
That one secret
Often find myself
Stuck, between
the crevices of
silent confession,
Tormented by insecurities
And guilted with
grim regression.
Composure of heart,
seized by restive whispers,
soldered with flaming iron
but there's no scars
of blisters.
My journey started
with ifs
And ended with buts,
rendering me confused.
What to shed tears for?
When love itself
is subdued.
The sheer emptiness
called out to be explored,
Poor innocence was innocent,
When noxious lies
left her abhorred.
Blood runs cold
when her sins
whispered in my ears.
That one secret
rooted deep within,
camouflaged by bleak fear.
Poisoning my self-esteem,
in pursuit of
true love.
Lost is vague transcendence,
now imbibing tears
isn't enough.
Tears gulped
by the pillows
And screams caged
in that torn out diary,
Heart called out
for mercy
but all she is offered was
Guilt of bribery.
Holding the dingy secret,
I trudged my way
into darkness alone.
With thoughts too
loud to ignore
and peace long forlorn.
Fighting a battle
with demons in my mind,
trying to rescue
the peace beneath.
Grave of fireflies
already been dug,
Only thing missing
is the flower wreath.
Solemn soul
departing the skin,
craving for an ounce
of love,
making the poor Earth Eiden
just like heavens above.
