TRIBALISM
TRIBALISM
In the times of distress,
In moments of truth,
More often than not,
We see communal love regress.
The days we spent together,
The hardships we've endured,
Fade like mist before these borders,
As we let familiar ties conquer love.
Why not esteem the strong?
Why not praise the skilled?
To please those who share our mother-tongue,
We abide by what is clearly wrong.
Oppression to belong,
A blood bond that spoils,
Our roots have become chains,
A cage, a poison coursing through our veins.
