Straight And Narrow

Straight And Narrow

It was the road less traveled that I chose

It was the road less travelled that I rose

It was the road less travelled that I kept my head on

It was the road less travelled that I stumbled upon

I looked at the road

And the road was good

The road was the best

Of the best as it should

The road was amazing

And wonderful and free

The road was everything it should be

The road I chose was

What I was walking in, I thought

The road I chose looked

Like I won't be caught

Day after day I kept believing I'm still there

Only to wake up in a blank stare

I closely looked at the road I once was in

I don't recognize the signs or the scenes

Little did I know,

I took a wrong detour

Little did I know,

I was no longer pure

The fire that once moved me to the straight path

Has slowly died down

And transformed to wrath

The anger that was once behind the road

Is now the stirring wheel of the car I rode

The straight path is just a step away

But every excuse of a detour

Did not allow me to stay

Day and night I kept trying

But the more I fight, the more I'm dying

The straight path is elusive

When you find it, hold on, grab it
