When you listened, I spoke....

Now there is silence, and we both listen

There was a planet when we both spoke Silence

Then, you didn't listen and I didn't feel like speaking

For tongues need ears

Just as hearts and minds need each other

And the music of lutes needs lips

Even as the songs which always wait to be sung

In the spring when gardens grow and glow

For us to meet beyond rights and wrongs

And speak and listen once again

In life to die and meet in death thereafter

From that journey of sorrow to this joy of pain

To share tears when hurts remain

Of two silent tongues and screaming arms

Gentle songs that wait to be sung

Now with neither speaking but both listening

To the wailing nights and traitor eyes

To the waning vibes of tender sighs..

To the waiting lives to transcend whys
