Sidelines
Sidelines
Standing by the sidelines and watching,
Because it’s easier to point a finger,
And say they could’ve done better.
Than be at the other end of the pointing finger,
And listen to frustrating criticism.
The sidelines are too crowded,
It’s easier to blend in between the people.
Than be the one in the spotlight,
Conscious of the millions of eyes
Judging you silently.
It’s safer to place a small bet,
On what’s about to happen in the game.
Than actually playing the game
Risking everything you have.
Only to experience the bolt from the blue.
But standing at the sidelines isn’t an option.
Your choice lies in between,
Wading into the game with all you have,
Or not playing at all.
But remember you can’t win without playing.
