Self Respect

Hurt from inside,

Still carry a smile outside,

Though broken pieces bleed,

I try not to focus on negative feed...

Being on my own,

Like a queen with no crown,

Fighting long battles,

Losing self but

Winning others' hearts...

Heart squeezes in pain,

Screams but in vain,

Tears flow,

No answer, Why do I feel low?

Giving importance to others,

Setting aside my wants and needs,

Watering those scars,

I managed to cross the extremes ...

Inner voices don't calm,

Storm inside Does its harm,

No words, No emotions,

I end up being a lifeless sculpture...

The fault should be mine,

I let the situations slide,

I lowered my guards,

Overlooked as they are mine ...

Learnt the hard way,

Realised I have to value my say,

Standing for myself isn't attitude,

When it raises Questions about your values,

Stay firm in your self-respect!
