Seasonal Emotions
Seasonal Emotions
I remember the Summers long back,
When the sweat used to run down my back,
But then Mom never refused an ice-cream,
Or an ice lolly at that,
Never was the cooler switched off,
But the mosquitoes never left our back.
Then came the Spring,
With the scent strong and pleasant,
And with it got the colors,
But also the bees,
Bumble and Honey likewise
The one bite would show the heavens
Then came the Rains,
Oh! What fun it was to play in the puddle,
But not so while being scolded
And the evening with Ma's,
'Garam(hot)' pakoras and 'chais (teas).
How can I leave old friend Winter,
Coming late but reminding us,
Of his presence,
With the 'Nukkadwalas jalebis'
(The pipping sweets round the corner)
And the mists and jackets,
And the laziness likewise.
How can I choose one over the other?
They are a part of me and my life,
These long gone but still fresh
