River Destiny
River Destiny
When the wind past my heart flew
It cleared the dust away
And my mind opened like crystal skies
And the thought occurred with no delay
To stop running with the rest of them
To stay back and around me look
What I really seek I will find
Only from the rest when I unhook
“Oh why a thought so different
Apart from the other hearts
Why say me to go the other way
When I can continue the same old starts”
I spoke myself through the river banks
Where my reflection as witness stood
I must make my decision wisely
Do I remove the world’s hood?
And to me a voice beneath spoke, quietly
My image in the water shook
“Be the miracle of the story
Not another page of that book”
“Remember under those expectations
There is a star willing to evolve
And shine alone as mighty as sun
To whom the ordinary planets revolve”
By then the time had run
It was now or history
Run with the rest of the troop
Or dance above the anticipatory
As the last second went past
I clutched my hands with “the will”
Years after my success
I thank the river beneath the hill
