Realization Of My True Self
Realization Of My True Self
When I was young
And not that wise
I would trust all society’s lies
Making me ideal was their aim
And if I followed them
I would not be the same.
To fulfill their demands
I strove really hard.
To realize finally, that
It was myself I had marred.
‘Beautiful’ for them,
I might have been
But my true beauty was left unseen.
The sweet voice
The big bright eyes
The bubbly spirit
And a soul that never told lies
How could I lose myself?
That just as not done.
Without the true ME
I was no fun
I repented my ways
And embraced the true me
And then, everything got right, you see
If there is something, I know
It is this, my dear
You might be tall or short, thin or fat
Rich or poor.
But you need not fear
You are wonderful the way you are.
Follow your heart
And you’ll go far
And if you ever have any doubtful notion
Just glance at the mirror
And view God’s best creation.
