Rain Hide And Seek Play

July skies wear mischievous smiles

Plays the fool with entire mankind

One moment threatening to pour, 

Out comes rain cheaters, raincoats,

Different coloured folded umbrellas 

Next moment clouds waltz away

Sun peeps lifting her grey veil

This hide and seek game no one likes

Two-wheeler riders taken by surprise

Shut off the ignition, park their bikes

Four-wheelers slow down, rains blind 

Traffic bottlenecks at every junction

Traffic cops are unable to manage

Road rage, honking, adds to noise pollution 

But who doesn't welcome the rains

After the sweltering summer months

Water bodies dried, shrunken up, 

Scarce to go around for everyone, 

Rains undo what summer does

Parched earth with water drunk turns tipsy

Sometimes throws up and floods
