Pride (A Tribute)
Pride (A Tribute)
My parents taught me not to judge someone on who they love;
To not hate or bully, but to rise above.
Love is beautiful, love is pure;
Love can heal and love can cure.
No matter what your orientation;
Your beauty is vibrant in every sensation;
No matter what your gender,
You deserve the world, never surrender!
Pride is not only a march to celebrate;
It's a remembrance of all those who sacrificed themselves at high stakes.
It's a show of gratefulness and a sign of strength;
That through all the hate, love will win at any length.
It's a beacon of hope for all those kids,
Who's suffocating in the closet because the law forbids it.
It's a glimmer of light for all those folks,
Who doesn't conform to society's hoax?
It's a struggle to gain rights,
To be able to live happily without any fright.
It's a fight, it's a march;
It's a vision of perseverance that'll forever last.
It's a voice yelling out loud,
To be true to oneself, why is that even disallowed?
Whether you support it or don't;
Why spread hate when it doesn't even affect you?
