Grog and sand form the Clay,

Incongruous words do we say.

One shaped by Potter's wheel,

The other fashioned by author's will.

Pliable Clay tempered by Fingers,

Words that say, thought that lingers.

Art, wars, freedom, romance,

Find depictions with each nuance.

Stories, motifs, themes profound

Find mentions in abounds.

Carrying water, liquor and urn,

Right to death from when ere born.

One burnt till firm in fire,

Other burns till self in pyre.

Sand removes the rusty edges,

Waits until one acknowledges.

Shaping ideas, views and history,

Couldn't poetry be the same as pottery?
