Nature's Law

Nature's Law

One summer night,

As mother earth

Gazed upon her creations

She came across

A leech

Talking to itself,

"each day I

Fasten onto

Someone new,

Sucking the life

Out of them.

What if, I

Devour not blood

But fruits?

And flowers?

And leaves?

And grass?

Mother earth, intrigued

Watches the leech

Intently,

Wondering what

It would do next.

It had slithered up a flower

And put its

A mouth into it.

Mother earth, then

Shut her eyes,

Threw her head back

And laughed.
