My Village: You Should Visit

My Village: You Should Visit

When I visit my village every holiday,

“You seem an urban man.” everyone says.

Villages are not just about—

‘Men sitting under the banyan tree, smoking and playing cards,

Houses with huge yards,

Women walking with baskets over their heads,

Animals watching everyone sitting under their sheds.’

The day starts as early as 4 in the morning

Their brains are itself their alarm which ring.

They bath the Gram Kheda with milk and water,

While the clay is mashed by the potter.

There is the Basanti Devi Temple,

Where sweet fritters are offered in ample.

The rolling tire is a fun game,

For the children with teeth strong to peel the cane.

The anim

als are treated as a family member,

Each has its own personal chamber.

The wind is light and clean

When you breathe, you find yourself in your rawest dream.

The tube well is another spot for kids,

The field an excellent space to hide.

Bathing in the tube well is so much fun in summers.

Everyone is a member of the family,

No matter how massive the village is.

This is our village’s tradition,

Cannot be explained in one edition.

It is rich in cultural heritage,

You would be lost in this amazing maze.

Do not sit at home and just dream about it,

Come and live the moments here.

We need to respect our legacy,

Which everyone in this world fancy.
