My First Sports Injury
My First Sports Injury
Snap! I heard a clear sound,
Like the sound of a softwood pencil,
When broken into half ,
Black went my vision for almost a second,
With a vibration running from left to right, simultaneously,
Finally all was overtaken by a sharp pain at the site.
The agony made me bend over,
As well as the shock of hearing the sound of a crack,
That sure rendered my heart frightened,
Distant voices I could hear,
But my head being too drained to focus on them at the same time,
Made me take a while longer to respond.
On removing my left shoe and sock,
I was astonished to see a swollen ball,
As big as that of a Ping Pong ball, so soon the inflammation too,
When cold ice packs were pressed against it,
Relief from pain eased my state,
But soon the worry of a fracture began, steadily.
Three days after the injury,
I sit in my room, on my bed,
With a blue plaster around my lower left leg,
For a grade three ankle sprain, it was,
Told to rest it for four weeks atleast,
To be out of the plaster or home, again.
