Miracle Of Birth

A miracle of birth is taking shape in my daughter's womb,

A life within a life begins its journey,

Anticipation, expectation,

Moments of stress, happiness,

Moments of solitude, Moments you talk,

As the child grows within you,

Your face glows in joy,

The comforting presence of your partner,

Sharing moments of joyful fatherhood,

The impatient nudges within,

Of the child,

Gentle moments reminder of

His existence,

Final Painful moments of conception,

First Cry of life from her child, 

The sweetest sound she hears in her life,

She holds him and disappears;

All that excruciating pain of childbirth,

The transition from daughter to wife, to motherhood, is complete.

So too is a miracle of birth complete.
