Melting Away
Melting Away
I wonder!
What beautiful things are like?
Maybe they are like sand.
We try to hold them,
We don't want them to go.
But slowly and steadily,
They slip away,
Like the sand slips from our hands.
Maybe they are like time.
Precious.
We want them to stay,
Forever with us.
But they leave
Like the time which flies away.
Maybe they are like the footprints on the sand.
Their hearty paws
Compose footprints in our hearts.
But within short duration of time
They disappear,
Like the pedestals disappear with coming waves...
I wonder!
What you were like?
Maybe you were like a candle,
Giving me light and warmth,
But slowly and steadily
Also melting away.
Yes, it is true,
Beautiful things don't last long.
Maybe they slip away.
Maybe they disappear.
Maybe they fly away.
Or maybe they melt.
But their slipping, disappearing, flying or melting away,
Leaves a mark in our life.
