MELANCHOLY MEDITATION (2)

It is easy to cross the ocean

 Or to travel across the mountains 

          Or the desert 

 But to tramp over the forest 

 Jammed with the frailties of youth

           Is impossible

One who passes through the wilderness 

     Without being ravished and 

       Wounded by the fangs

         Of youthful pranks

          Is the holy man

Whom we rarely meet in our lifescape.
