LOVE FOR A PET (Week 4; Theme: Pet)
LOVE FOR A PET (Week 4; Theme: Pet)
Pets are for sharing, caring and loving
They let us stay straight and keep moving,
They kiss you and get kissed in return
Love for pets do not let you go on a sojourn.
Mowgli ran into my life when in doldrums I was –
She made my life turn into a worthy cause.
When she licked my face, out of love or joy,
I realized that she’s come in our lives as a lively toy.
But she passed into the world of the fairies,
We knew that we’d lost one of our dearies.
She’s the one who made me underst
and what love is,
A love, asking for nothing in return, sealed with a kiss.
A white bundle of joy she’d been in earthly life,
She’d impeded my travel to the island of Fife.
She bound me in chains of love and friendship
Because she’s the one who’d made me realize filial kinship.
When we buried her amid the trees and shrubs,
Our garden seemed to flower more with a litter of pups.
Unborn ones, for Mowgli died like a maiden
Running and jumping around all over our garden.
