Long Live Mera Bharat
Long Live Mera Bharat
Corridors of power wear a deserted look
Footballs on marble floors have reduced
Slush funds sealed, doors remain closed
Rogues turned gentlemen in dhotis, boots
Denied entry swinging briefcases full
Moisturized palms, turning rough, and dry
Sit in their chambers eating humble pie
Critics say more needs to be plugged
Hey! ...overnight nothing can be done
'Rome wasn't built in a day' as the adage
goes; reform results may seem slow
The hard soil is being vigorously raked
Weeds, rocks, boulders being uprooted
Thrown aside, to irrigate new channels
Hits and misses are in every game
Sometimes even huge risks taken
Outright may seem preposterous
Some tall trees may need to be felled
Ground beneath may feel unstable
Wagging tongues may poison spread
Goodwill come out of honest efforts
Please don't so easily give up on them
Mere Bharat will return to its former glory
