Life's Canvas

Behind me,

Lay the roads trodden.

Holding the moments,

Beautiful and ugly.

Blissful and agonizing,

Rejuvenating and suffocating.

Memoirs to cherish,

And memoirs to relinquish.

Roads of my life,

Yet not taken.

Stretches before me,

The meandering serpentine path.

Mystic, delightful, enchanting and magnificent,

Inviting, enticing and encouraging.

Dusty, upheavals and muddy,

Puddled, thorny and exhausting.

At this juncture,

I stand.

Upon a boulevard,

Lonely, deserted and wilted.

Mysterious and dreadful,

Bare and scorching.

With a heavy heart,

And numb mind.

Miles I have traversed,

Miles yet to go.

Hopefully,

Next moment,

There are,

Lush green terrains.

Misty highlands,

Ethereal music,

Surreal fragrance,

Fountains of happiness,

Beautiful panorama,

Painted upon,

My life’s canvas.
