Letting Go
Letting Go
Your presence although unavoidable and intolerable
Has become somewhat normal.
Your presence doesn’t kindle a fire in me anymore
And your absence doesn’t extinguish the flame which was burning before.
You and words have now become a memory,
A memory to never be forgotten
But a memory now to be freed
And to be forgiven.
It was never you that intoxicated my mind,
But the idea of you.
It was easy to give in to something false
Because the truth didn’t include the actual you.
