Let Her Be Free
Let Her Be Free
Trying to keep a hold of time
Is like trying to hold a cloud,
You know it’s futile to try
And yet,
You do anyway, desperate to feel the
Candy-floss between your fingers.
Trying to capture time
Is like holding a parent
Back from seeing their dying child.
Listening to the screaming
And crying and begging
For all eternity.
Trying to keep time in a cage
Is like trying to make someone
Stay when they
Do not love you.
Let her go,
Slip through your fingers
And be free.
The constricts of time are a cage
And she knows this,
Let her be free and
You will be too.
