She put a dash of blush on,

Painted her lips,

Thickened her lashes,

Put on her grey business suit,

Knotted her hair in a no nonsense bun,

Stole one last glance at herself,

Picked up her folder,

Walked towards the stage,

Delivered her speech,

Electricity sizzled the air as she ended,

Deafening applause filled the room,

She heaved a sigh of determination,

Felt it deep in her heart,
