Inconvenient Truth
Inconvenient Truth
Honesty staged by minds sly
Distracting matters are deeply pried
Reality is masked by prejudices and fictions
Most views are acquired by foul words and maledictions
Anger is managed by fallacious promises and assurances
But to get a job done, common man needs references
Fear is exploited by vicious demagogues
While to pay his taxes, a law-abiding citizen slogs
Corruption has increased and so has crime
Inflation is also at its prime
Eutopia is featured from crumbling lives
While to feed hun
gry mouths a poor man strives
Society is segregated in haves and haves not
If the price is right, even virtues can be brought
Equity has become a joke
Righteous persons are generally broke
And as the hypocrisy prevails
Corrupt statesman cooks up excuses and tales
“Look at the bright side,” he says
“Be positive, let’s hope and pray”
But to the problems at hand he turns a blind-eye
The glib talker knows how to defy
Favorably avoiding the pragmatic route
Why bother talking about inconvenient truth?
