Icarus

Icarus

Icarus wanted to touch the sun

He knew the consequences.

He fell,

The sun burned him

He vesicles and he plunged.

The sea opened her arms to catch him

And welcome him home,

Almost like greeting an old friend.

The world sings songs about his fall,

His failure and the flames.

We forget the ascend,

The triumph,

The solace.

We forget that at that very moment,

The freedom,

That independence

Was all he wanted.

The world saw his fall as a tragedy,

But Icarus flew actually.

He loved the sun

Too close and too much.

Where we all saw pain

He saw allure and flickers of relish.

As they say, there's no beauty without pain

So with his eyes closed

He took the fall for the iridescent sun in vain.
